After Jio Now Airtel to Come Up With 4G Enabled Feature Phones: Bharti Airtel, one of India's largest telecom companies, has announced that after the announcement of Jio Feature Phone by Mukesh Ambani at Reliance Jio's AGM meeting last week, the company has confirmed that the company will come with a 4G Enabled feature phone. As reported in Livemint, Airtel Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Gopal Vittal said that telecom operators will start their new 'low priced 4G enabled phones' with Airtel, phone makers. Vittal said: "There is no intention of subsidizing our devices. There is a big difference between subsidy and bundling. We have been in the field of such phones for many years. We will continue to work on bundling further. In the report, it was stated that the company will also carry VoLTE 4G Voice service by March 2018.

After the arrival of JioPhones, it was believed that it will put pressure on other phone makers to bring better features to low price phones. Currently, most feature phones work on 2G technology. According to Neil Shah, Director of Counterpoint, 4G feature phone will be adopted in the second and third quarter.

Mukesh Ambani had announced that 4G VoLTE Feature Phones will be free of charge, which will be available at a refundable deposit of Rs. 1500. JioPhone has a 2.4-inch display. There is also a MicroSD card slot available. It supports 22 Indian languages with voice command feature. In addition, the phone has a single SIM slot, which will support Jio Sim only.

Report further states that Qualcomm and Spreadtrum have announced that their chips have been used in JioPhones. The phone also has a panic button. JioPhone's Beta Trial will begin on August 15.
