Russia's Kaspersky Lab Launches Free Antivirus Software Globally: Russia's multinational cyber security and anti-virus company Kaspersky Lab roll out the new version of its antivirus software into the world. Company founder Eugene Kaspersky said in a blog post that it has been made available in the US, Canada and some countries of Asia Pacific for free. At the same time, in the remaining countries or areas, it will be launched in the coming months.

It is designed just for basic needs like email, web antivirus protection and automatic updates. The company is giving free software for 18 months free of cost. This is a development phase running on a pilot version. It includes markets like Russia, Ukraine, and China.

The relationship between the US and Russia has been going badly for many years, which has worsened the concern of Russia. One of the major reasons for this is that US intelligence agencies accused Russia of hacking the 2016 US presidential election. However, Moscow had declined the charge altogether.
